Extinct in Trinidad & Tobago until 1987. Since then 40 of these beautiful little ducks have been bred by the Pointe-a-Pierre Wild Fowl Trust and released in the wild. Relentlessly hunted, these are the most sensitive of the whistling tree ducks. Food - aquatic vegetation, insects, some grain.
